The traditional Casa Ibicenca centers around a broad room, or ¨porxo¨ with an entrance on one side and adjoining rooms on the others, serving as both the home’s living area and workspace. The owners call it the “belly,” now reimagined for winter entertaining.
Tucked away in the hills of Ibiza, this former farmhouse has been reimagined into a captivating home that melds rustic Ibicencan architecture with a hint of whimsical British flair, to curate the effortlessly cool aesthetic we all dream of.
When a British couple discovered a traditional finca nestled in the Ibizan countryside, they knew instantly it had potential and embarked on creating their dream home – every detail, every decision. It wasn’t until after half a decade of driving around the island property hunting, that everything changed in one day. ¨We´d looked at over 50 properties across the island over a period of 5 years until we found it. It gave us the authentic finca, but with tons of opportunity to add our own character. It was meant to be – even our favourite Rolling Stones song was playing on the radio as we came up the drive¨ they added.
Above the entrance to the ¨belly¨ the name given by the couple to the old ¨porxo¨ a plaque engraved with the words “Fucking Fabulous” sets the tone: a playful nod to the homeowners irreverent spirit and confident sense of style. What was once a quiet hillside home has been transformed into a space that feels both grounded in tradition and delightfully rebellious. Surrounded by lush farmland, olive groves and rolling hills, the finca is set in the quintessential serenity of the Ibiza campo.
Spread over two floors, the property features multiple archways, a hallmark of traditional Spanish design that creates fluidity between spaces. The interior design celebrates British eccentric style but in a subtle way – cleverly mixing the calm with the flamboyant. Although they have taken cues from the interior design influences of the island, the design makes it clear: the homeowners’ vision was unmistakably their own. The farmhouse, reimagined through a lens of British whimsy and Pikes-inspired charm, is an example of how eclectic sensibilities can harmonize with regional vernacular. The result is a home that is relaxed and sophisticated, and playful yet rooted in tradition.
Bathed in the soft glow of Balearic light, the stunning main entrance of the property is effortlessly elegant.
At the main entrance of the finca, the brilliant white stucco façade and terracotta-tiled steps leading up to the porch are flanked by a pair of artisanal wooden stools one side and a pair of large modern lanterns the other. The grand Spanish arched doorway features frameless glass that opens into a porch anchored by a rattan peacock chair. Beyond the porch, the original iron gates lead to the fincas central gathering space, which the couple refer to as the ¨belly¨. ¨It’s a social space – the belly of the house is where we spend our time in winter, which is perfect for entertaining¨ she says. True to traditional Ibicencan architecture, the kitchen, bedrooms, and a secondary living room flow naturally from this heart of the house, creating an atmosphere both timeless and welcoming.
In the ¨porxo¨ accessed from the main entrance to the finca, Sabina wood beams lend warmth above, while a graphic print rug, monochrome textiles and tongue- in-cheek animal print art positioned on the floor, injects a note of British irreverence into the Ibizan calm. 
A vintage champagne bucket and a cowhide chair in deep tan and white brings warmth and character to a quiet corner by the stairs. The vivid coral tropical-print pillow with tiger adds a touch of British eccentricity, while the recessed niche housing a Marshall speaker – blends modern luxury with traditional architecture.
The flooring throughout is a natural travertine stone in light beige. It appears rough and weathered in keeping with the farmhouse tradition, but is smooth to touch and most importantly in Ibiza´s climate – it’s cool underfoot. The whitewashed walls are a popular choice in Ibiza leaving color to be added from artwork and textiles.
Outside, the pool is framed by elegant Bali stone that seamlessly blends with the surrounding natural landscape. From the pool, the view stretches across flat farmland to distant mountains, offering a strikingly panoramic experience that is both expansive and intimate. Adjacent to the pool, one of several generous covered terraces extend the living space outdoors. Its Sabina wood–beamed ceiling is a testament to artisanal craftsmanship, sheltering an al-fresco dining area and a fully equipped barbecue. The terrace provides a nice transition between indoor and outdoor living, perfectly suited to the Ibizan climate and lifestyle.
Beneath a canopy of Sabina beams, this Ibizan finca’s terrace frames sweeping views of the farmland below. Terracotta tiles and whitewashed columns ground the open-air dining space, while a selection of rattan chairs surrounds the dining table for al-fresco meals with a view.

The elegant pool terrace makes a perfect space to swim and take in the views. An outdoor shower sits next to one of the two fixed banquette seating chill-out zones. These built-in benches are integrated into the pool area’s architecture for a seamless look. Whether you are in the shower or lounging around the pool, you have the perfect vantage point over the sweeping countryside. Cascades of pink bougainvillea inject bursts of color – an idyllic setting for peaceful afternoons. It’s easy to see why this exclusive finca has been the location for photo shoots, bringing artistic visions to life in such beautiful surroundings.
A set of 3 yellow rubber ducks add a touch of whimsy and British humor inside the outdoor shower – with its glossy gold edges that shine in the sunlight.
A generous chill-out area beside the pool is layered with cushions in tropical-inspired prints with raffia trim, echoing the rhythm of the surrounding palms and lush greenery. Soft grey and white tones introduce a calm, understated palette that enhances the tranquil mood and complements the natural Bali stonework. In the poolside shower, the couple introduced rich gold Zellige tiles to accentuate the triangular form of the built-in structure, which is elsewhere finished in crisp white tiles laid in a subtle herringbone pattern. The result is a striking design moment that catches the sunlight beautifully, infusing the space with a playful touch of glamour. With three whimsical ducks completing the look, this sun-drenched corner set against blue skies and rolling fields feels like a long-imagined dream – finally brought to life by the creative owners.
A perfect expression of British eccentricity – the sitting room brims with character, from whimsical hand-painted ceramics by artist Rory Dobner, whose work also adorns Pikes Hotel Ibiza, to glittering disco balls that catch the light. A bronze sculpture of a nude female figure rests elegantly on the fireplace, paired with a gilded antelope head. 
The patterns and print choices stamped on lamp shades, dining chairs and a rug in the central room, covers a wild mix of monochrome, animal print and floral. A single tropical print chair by Anthropology makes a statement. Bravely blending all together, has resulted in a space that feels enticing and full of irresistibly, funky charm.
The vintage Chesterfield sofa came from England at Pure White Lines based in Hackney, London, whilst the palm tree print wall hanging is from Ibiza Code.
A short flight of steps leads from the porxo or ¨belly¨ of the house to the sitting room – a thoughtfully curated composition of textures and tones. At its heart, a deep chocolate leather Chesterfield was chosen and draped with a plush winter-white throw that softens its structure. The palette, rich in bronze, gold, and earthy browns, feels equally inviting through summer’s warmth or Ibiza’s mild winter. A faded vintage tapestry depicting palm trees sets a quietly exotic tone, complemented by a gold-leaf side table that adds a hint of glamour. Tropical-print and black-and-gold cushions infuse the space with a playful, club-tropicana energy, paired with the presence of an art deco–inspired bronze coffee table resting on a natural jute rug. A large beige pouf with black detailing completes the scene—an intimate, stylish corner for Ibiza reading or dreaming.
The palette in the kitchen flows beautifully with the rest of the interior, keeping the same warm tones, with a light oak built in kitchen with black Smeg range cooker in the Victoria range matching the black window and door frames. The oven backsplash is decorated again with Zellige tiles, this time in a shade of bronze.
Wooden shutters filter golden sunlight into one of the finca’s serene bedrooms, where the tropical aesthetic continues. A vibrant green bed throw with palm tree motifs is complemented by muted grey-green cushions and a vintage-inspired wall hanging of a tropical paradise. The interplay of lush greens and earthy browns echoes the landscape just beyond the windows, blurring the line between indoors and out. The result is a tranquil retreat – a room that invites rest, reflection, and a connection to nature.
A serene dressing area, complete with custom built panelled wardrobes and bench leads into one of the bedrooms through a graceful Spanish archway, with Sabina wood beams overhead.
A statement in understated luxury, the bathroom has been designed with a free-standing, beautiful brass bathtub leading to an outdoor terrace.
A hammered brass bathtub finished in gold and brass tones on a sculptural base anchors the bathroom with design prowess. Beside it, a plush sheepskin rug adds a touch of warmth and indulgence – the perfect companion for lingering moments of calm. The walls, finished in sleek micro-cement, exude contemporary sophistication while maintaining a sense of serenity. A recessed niche provides both practicality and poise, offering discreet storage for bath essentials and a softly lit spotlight that casts a gentle glow, transforming the space into an intimate sanctuary made for unwinding.
Glossy gold, black, and muted beige Zellige tiles by Bert & May, paired with a cheeky tiger-print hand towel stirs up a soulful, bold, rock-and-roll note in the bathroom.
Inside the bathroom, wall-mounted gold tap-ware creates a striking contrast against the black tiles that envelop the wall and flow seamlessly across the rectangular basin. A portrait of the late cultural icon and British rock star David Bowie beside the sink injects personality and a touch of irreverence, echoing the space’s British eccentric spirit. The owners chose three distinct tile tones from Bert & May to add depth and visual intrigue with an irregularly shaped mirror above the basin. The result is a bathroom that feels both glamorous and effortlessly cool, a playful ode to style and self-expression.
From the upper level, the sweeping views of Ibiza´s countryside framed by an archway and Sabina beams are admired by a decorative blue sheep sculpture. The eccentric statement is by Rockett St. George, reminiscent of those that can be found at Pikes Ibiza.
