When owners of Can Tepa asked Sally to lead the design process of their new sunset villa on Ibiza’s covetable southwest coast, it was quite the surprise to find out it was totally empty. The blank canvas presented endless possibilities to select her top textiles, decor and natural materials from the island, as well as overseeing custom made pieces crafted by a local carpenter.
“Everything I buy, I buy on the island, I love to support the local economy, I think that’s really important”.
Sally designed a bespoke kids zone, incorporating mezzanine beds handmade in light oak with charming beige tones, speaking to tree stump contemporary wooden side tables, beautiful white textiles and stripe accent pillows to complete the barefoot luxury aesthetic. Walls are finished in classic white Ibiza, with white drapes blending seamlessly, framing full length windows that draw the eye to a delightful wood-decked private terrace. Out here, folding director chairs in keeping with the neutral palette, have been selected for their iconic style and practicality.

Just as we thought neutral palettes were losing appeal, it’s evident that theory doesn’t apply – especially to coastal homes. The inspiration of this Ibiza interior is drawn from natures hues of creamy and sandy beige from facing Cala Conta beach, and the natural wood tones flowing from the outdoors in. This beachside setting beckons the designers minimalist approach.

“I’ve put lots of natural textures and not a lot of colour, because the views should speak for itself, in my opinion. In the master, I have carried on that same flow of the natural, the neutral, lovely textures, soft linens, cotton, waffle, just beautiful natural things, so that when you wake up you feel peaceful, you feel calm, you feel relaxed¨

Designed to feel like a daily escape, this harmonious space blends barefoot luxury with a “very neutral palette” lending to the tranquility that touches each of its guests. “Truly, I could live here” Sally says with a smile.
