OPEN DOOR CHRISTMAS EDITION: INSIDE VILLA STYLIST SALLY´S FESTIVE IBIZA HOME

Hi, Ibiza Property Journal. I’m Sally from White Island Styling. Let me show you how I do Christmas. Okay, this is the lounge. This is the main hub with the fireplace. I’m a great believer in you don’t necessarily need to decorate everything in your house at Christmas. If you just want to do your coffee table or just some decorations around your mirror, that’s probably enough. Every year I do it differently. This year I’ve gone for quite a natural look, lots of wood and paper. Paper seems to be very on trend, I’ve had these trees probably it’s the third year they have come out. So I tend to do a little collective of special things on my coffee table, on my tray. This is a lovely beaded bauble from a friend, a good friend, and a lovely decoration with a little angel another good friend gave to me. This is a beautiful friend of mine, Sue. Unfortunately, sadly, passed away. We always talked about going ice skating. We never went, but that’s Sue. And then this was when we moved into this house. It’s a little key and a little, um, what I like to think is the title deeds, this little scroll of papers. That’s my escritura for this lovely house that I adore. So the garland I actually got an artificial one this year just because the fire is so hot that it tends to make the pine needles drop, so I’ve opted for a pine artificial effect but it’s also got some eucalyptus entwined in there. There’s like three garlands all together and then I’ve added on the lights and things over the years, little reindeer that came from ski resorts and Christmas trees, snowflakes that I bought actually I think last year in Ibiza Garden which is a beautiful place if you want Christmas decorations – Ibiza Garden is phenomenal… and a hessian garland. Yeah I think it’s a nice effect it gets even more glowing in the evening. So in Ibiza we have the very good fortune of being surrounded by pines so I always bring that into the house or even outside the house up on the terrace here and decorate it in some fashion. This year I’ve gone for these paper stars but also these lovely things I actually bought them last year on Christmas day in a care home that a family member was staying in, so I just thought that’s a lovely memory and yeah these are these are Ibiza Garden. Then everything’s a little bit Nordic down here, so quite Scandinavian style, quite pale, pared down Christmas table, but when you live in the sun, we don’t need it to be all red and gold, in my opinion. So you might ask, is this a Christmas decoration? Yes, he is. He’s a little polar bear. representing my dog, that used to be my Catalan sheepdog and he’s also holding some broccoli, you see that’s very Christmassy. But yes, I don’t think he works anymore, let’s see, no, he doesn’t. I’ve had him probably 20 years but yeah he comes out every Christmas with your little scarf on don’t you mate? Merry Christmas. This is my Christmas tree, newly purchased from Zara this year. I just kind of thought it was special. So it’s very simple, it’s very pure and I just love that it’s all lights. Maybe in the future I’ll put some baubles on but this year it’s just staying nude. I love it like that. So this is my office, this isn’t done for Christmas but it’s overlooked by John Lennon. Lovely, lovely man, very much believe in all he thought of and uh he was painted by my husband so I’m super proud of him. I love to have this at home at Christmas, um it’s kind of like a heavy panettone but with marzipan running through the center – and top tip is if you toast it or put it in the oven – yum.
