The location and setting

Despite being located in the city’s bustling marina and facing opposite its own world-famous party hotspot Pacha nightclub, the hotel offers both relaxation and serenity. If you’re someone who loves soul and sophistication under one roof and being close to local nightlife and city attractions, this hotel is perfect for you. During the season from late April to October, you can even leave your room and be on the dance floor at Pacha within minutes.

The hotel is positioned in the Marina Botafoc – a short five minute walk away from the lavish super-yachts, prestigious designer stores, as well as waterfront restaurants where on-terrace dining comes with sunset views you’ll never forget. Pacha Hotel is a five-minute drive to Ibiza Town, or, if you don’t fancy searching for parking, a half-hour wander takes you to the cobbled streets surrounding Dalt Vila, where you can explore the city and its rich culture on foot.

The architecture

The hotel rises six floors, with 56 rooms and suites thoughtfully arranged to maximize natural light and privacy. Pacha Hotel was fully renovated in 2022, led by Spanish architectural design studio Proyecto Singular. They combined the essence and magic of Pacha to transform the property into “a place for friends to reunite, celebrate a love of music and make memories together”. “We wanted to use the iconic lines of the building as the base for a new type of urban concept,” said Tibor Martin, Pacha Group Director of Architecture Design. “It was important to use organic and curved lines, which are a signature element of our venues. We have used Mediterranean materials that complement our urban environment.”

Hotel history

Stepping into Pacha Hotel feels like entering a slice of Ibiza clubbing history. Opened in 2003 just across from the legendary Pacha Ibiza nightclub, the hotel channels the spirit of the island’s most iconic party institution. The brand began in Sitges near Barcelona in 1967, but it was Ibiza where the club opened in 1973 that cemented its global reputation, drawing free spirits, artists and music lovers during the island’s hippie era. Today, The Pacha Group is now owned by FIVE Holdings and continues to evolve.

Room design

The guest rooms feature a mix of loam brown and neutral sand tones, whilst honoring traditional Ibizan interiors with white-washed walls. Elsewhere, muslin textured bed throws, premium crisp-white bed linen, rustic wooden doors and subtle, low-lit dressing areas create a comfortable and pared-back space to rest. The warm, tonal open-plan bathroom is roomy, wrapped in a palette of pale modern micro-cement, and feels like entering a private spa. Round his and hers twin basins are accompanied by arched mirrors that draw your eyes upward, framed in matte black to accentuate a dramatic effect. Rooms have a large, walk-in, softly lit rainfall shower with smoked glass, emitting a luxurious, intimate feel.

Rooms at Pacha Hotel are curated thoughtfully to provide a peaceful getaway. Our room came with a private terrace which was nice to sip a drink or coffee from the Nespresso machine while watching the sunset over the town. We had a very comfortable king bed and a minibar, as well as relaxing bath robes. The space is designed to ensure a good night’s rest – particularly welcome after a night of dancing at Pacha! (although our spring stay was a little too early in the season for that). Like me, If you’re someone who brings a suitcase full of your favourite eccentric Ibiza outfits and accessories – you won’t be short of space in the generous wardrobe!

Around the hotel

The intimate, secluded pool area at the front of the hotel is located on the ground floor and is mostly for lounging and socializing rather than long swims. Next to the pool and hotel restaurant, there’s an open-air terrace area which is a lively spot for cocktails or for “the best pizza on the island.” The experience includes a selection of high-quality Mediterranean plates or tapas in a laid-back, soulful setting, perfect for enjoying a meal under the stars with low lighting, before heading to Pacha Ibiza. By around 10 pm, The Terrace in the busy months transforms into the hotel’s social heartbeat with resident DJs warming-up the night before Pacha takes over.

The hotel lobby and breakfast area feels elevated; a mix between boutique hotel and private members club. A mix of boucle up-holstered dining chairs, hand-painted marble tables, natural wooden chairs with wooden dining tables, accompanied by palms and greenery immediately creates a stylish and relaxed setting. The space is decorated with minimal ceramic vases, artwork and nods to the iconic Pacha brand.

The food and drink

Breakfast is served until 11am, perfect for those late starts to the day. Guests are spoilt for choice with offerings of pancakes, pastries, yoghurt, granola, fresh juices, cold meats, strong coffee and even freshly made chia pudding pots with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. Water is provided at breakfast and in-room water can be requested.

For lunch or dinner, the restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel offers an a la carte menu of Mediterranean dishes with something to suit everyone from pizza to pasta, steak, salads and grilled dishes. Vegetarian or other dietary options are clearly labelled. In the evening, The Terrace comes alive with cocktails and wine, perfect for dining under the Balearic sky before heading out. In addition to the hotel restaurant, there’s a separate restaurant located inside the Pacha nightclub building, serving Mediterranean dishes in a lively, pre-nightclub setting.

The wellness options

The hotel has a low-key wellness or massage room where guests can book massages and other treatments during their stay. While Pacha Hotel doesn’t have a full-scale spa, guests can book treatments at the wellness centre at Destino Five Ibiza in nearby Talamanca, part of the same group, when it’s open. The space offers a wider range of massages, body and facial treatments, plus access to the impressive adults only Playa Pacha Pool Club. The concierge desk at Pacha Hotel will also assist with local activities such as bicycle rental.

For families

Pacha is not an adults-only hotel, but its lively, nightlife-inspired atmosphere gives it an adult-oriented vibe particularly during the height of the summer. Cots are provided for babies and young children are welcome but families will enjoy a more relaxed experience when Pacha nightclub is closed during the quieter months (November–March). Teenagers or older kids can still enjoy the hotel’s central location and easy access to Ibiza Town, while keeping in mind that the club is strictly for 18 years and above.

The service

I was truly impressed with the service. The hotel staff are professional and welcoming, reflecting the warm energy of the entire experience. From the friendly greeting and assistance with luggage, to the mini tour of the hotel and their honest smiles, they are faultless and always ready to meet your needs.

Sustainability

Pacha Hotel is the first hotel on the island to achieve LEED Platinum Certification. It operates on 100% renewable energy, with a 39% reduction in carbon emissions and a focus on local, 0 KM sourcing for food. As of 2019, Pacha also eliminated single-use plastics like straws showing its commitment to the environment.
